My wife and I attended one of Dee’s basic obedience group classes. Although we think our dog, Ori, is for the most part a wonderfully well behaved boy, we felt that we benefited from Dee’s group class because she taught us a lot about reading a dog’s behavior while they are on leash, and how the leash affects your dog and the way he will interact with other dogs he meets on the street --more importantly, how your actions on the other end of the leash affect your interactions with other dogs you meet! We learned to be more relaxed on our walks, more aware of what our body language is communicating to our dog, and made some new friends in the class!

My husband and I shared our home with two persian cats prior to the arrival of our beautiful Havaenese puppies! We picked the Havenese because of their temperament, energy level and trainability. We were referred to Dee by a neighbor of ours who adopted her dog fr
om our local dog rescue. We hired Dee to help with housebreaking and teach our little guys basic commands. What we got in our initial lesson was much more! We learned how to put our pups on a solid routine, how to prevent unwanted behaviors like jumping up on the sofa, and how it’s so important that the puppies be supervised at all times during their first few months. In just a few weeks after our first lesson, the puppies were doing sit, down, stay and come on command! Dee definitely put us on a track to success with our boys. When our boys were one year old, we called Dee again to help with the dogs barking at the doorbell and barking at people as well as other animals on walks. I couldn’t believe how easily I was able to modify their behavior with Dee’s positive approach techniques! I will continue to invite Dee back into my home for all of our behavior needs. She is fun, enthusiastic, flexible, and great with the dogs!

“I called Dee to help me introduce my newly adopted dog, Sinatra, to my 7 year old dog, Thumper. With them both being male, I wanted to ensure that Thumper did not have any aggression towards Sinatra entering my home. Dee was there when Sinatra was delivered, and helped me understand the dogs body language. She gave me pointers on what to during feeding, sleeping, play, and walk times to make sure that my dogs would become the best of friends. I was so satisfied with what Dee taught me that I felt confident in introducing a third dog to my family just this year. Working with Dee truly gives you the skills you need to train your dog, and then another dog!

In a single 90 minute training Dee showed us how to create boundaries in our home. Now Bagel never goes upstairs, bolts out the door, chases other dogs and walk on a leash.

Dee came to help us when we brought our rescue doggie Bagel into our home. Never being dog owners before, Dee came as soon as we brought Bagel home and did an immediate intervention as to how to keep him from running out the door, how to keep him down the stairs and most importantly how to give solid and clear commands. She helped us get over that nervous hurdle many first time dog owners have when you bring your pet home for the first time. Now we cannot remember a time when Bagel was NOT in our family!

Butters, my 3 year old male Bichon-poo, was previously trained but needed a little refresher / advanced training course. I noticed he still got a little too excited when in contact with people and other pets. No aggression… just sheer excitement; he loves to play with everyone and anything. It’s not a bad thing, but I did want more control on the leash and the few times I let him roam in front of the house off the leash.

Dee was able to train my girlfriend and I how to manage Butters on and off the leash. Being consistent was probably the most important lesson learned. And having my little Butters walk next to me without a leash and not worrying if or when he is going to bolt toward the first kid he sees playing the sandbox is a WONDERFUL feeling.

It helps that Dee is very knowledgeable in dog behavior and is very approachable. She honestly thinks there are no dumb questions. It was a pleasure working with Dee.

Kalie, a Belgina Malinois, is the youngest of my three dogs and was driving me nuts. She was totally uncontrollable and I actually had thought I might have to give her up. I met Dee during a volunteer event and she offered to help. Dee came to my house and helped me work with Kalie. The change was almost immediate. Where at one time, if she was off the leash, she would run away and not return, she now returned even after seeing peacocks! Training made a huge difference and she is now a pleasure to take anywhere.

Before I had Dee's help, my life managing my dogs out on walks was in need of some serious help. I have two dogs: one is Casi, an 8 year old 60 lb shepherd mix that I've had since she was a baby. And Bailey, a 4 year old 20 lb rat terrier mix that I had rescued 6 months prior. I needed help with Casi the most on walks. Whenever she would see another dog she would go berserk, flailing herself around in the most noticeable way possible by lunging at other dogs, jumping, and barking really really loud. I couldn't control her on walks when she'd see another dog so I would walk her at times when people would less likely be out, and avoiding other dogs at all costs. Even her seeing another dog across the street would get her going. Dee taught me how to walk them together calmly side by side, and techniques on how to calm Casi when other dogs came into view. After working with Dee, life is much more manageable walking them. I can actually enjoy walks now!

Before we hired Dee as our trainer, Oscar, our standard Dachshund, was impossible to manage and didn't consistently listen to or obey our commands. However, with her help, we realized that Oscar wasn't the problem...we were. After implementing the "pack leader' mentality and working diligently with him, we now walk easily and have developed a healthy relationship built on exercise, discipline, and love. I think the most important skill we learned was to be consistent, patient, calm, and assertive with Oscar. Thanks Dee.

Life with a new pup is well...full of potty accidents, leash pulling and excited behavior in addition to a ton of love and laughs. Dee helped me learn basic 101 puppy training techniques that really work and the best part is that she only uses positive reinforcement. Just an hour with her and much practice has taken us a long way! Thanks for all your help Dee!

Hi Dee,

I just wanted to write a note to say thank you for everything you did for me and Max. I had the most wonderful experience in your class. I have to say that the money I paid for your training class may have been the most worthwhile $$ I’ve ever spent!  I went from
having a dog who ignored me when I called him to one who now comes running.  In addition, taking class together created a stronger bond between Max and I, which I didn’t think was possible.  I thought he was the best dog in the world before I came to class.  I was wrong – now he’s even better!  He’s much calmer around strangers, will sit to be petted, will greet other dogs nicely and never pulls on his leash.  I’m even starting to teach him new tricks – training with you made that possible.

You have a wonderful presence and make training fun and educational.  If I ever get another dog (which I may do soon) I will be calling you to sign up for another class.  J Thanks again!

XOXO,
